Marin’s ‘Plastic Free July’ County Resolution names natural fibers as part of the solution
Marin County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution in 2026 proclaiming Plastic Free July — recognizing synthetic textiles as a significant source of microplastic pollution and naming natural fibers, including locally grown wool, as part of the solution. The resolution is a model that can be replicated for counties across the country.
